Twilight By Stephanie Meyer
Available in The Swift Current Library?: Yes
General topics: Friendship, Love, Relationships, Family, Vampires, Folklore
Rating out of 5: 3.5/5
Good Points:
- The story is well written for Junior Youth
- The author has a good writing style, and it's easy to get lost in the book
- The characters are, for the most part, realistic
- A very interesting interpretation on vampires
Bad Points:
- I find the main character to be annoying
- The book moves very slow in the beginning
- The 'love' plot is a little bit unrealistic
Overall Review: Although I am not the biggest fan of the original Twilight book, I like the rest of the series, and the book is well written for the first novel the author had ever written. When I first read it, I got lost hopelessly in the book. I stayed up late reading it and I was addicted as soon as the rival coven appeared. This book is a great stepping stone to kick off the rest of a fantastic series that has got almost the whole world hooked on it. The only thing I didn't like was reading the book in Bella's point of view, because she's quite whiny in my opinion.
If you liked this book try: New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn
